The Bodhi Collective - July Edition

How to stay dry this July | Truffle in to Bodhi | Vegan Yum Cha picnic in the Park

How to stay dry this July

To celebrate and support all those choosing to avoid alcohol and participate in Dry July, we have created four non-alcoholic cocktails that will make you forget why you drank alcohol in the first place.

Martini drinkers will enjoy the Green Grocer Martinot and Silver Princess Martinot, with their respective non-alcoholic spirits poured over ice.

Our Sweet Leaf uses Silver Princess non-alcoholic spirit shaken with sage, lemongrass, chilli, rosemary, pandan, lemongrass, palm sugar syrup and marjoram. The Merida also uses Silver Princess topped with habanero shrub, angostura bitters, fresh lime,

mint and ginger ale.

Truffle in to Bodhi

Our new winter menu is now in full swing, with special warming dishes to keep you cosy.

We're excited that truffles are back on the menu, we source ours from Launceston in Tasmania, where the truffles thrive in the frosty conditions.

Chef, Brooke Ng, who is in charge of our à la carte menu has created a special Japanese sweet potato gnocchi topped with freshly grated Australian truffles.

Book now for Father's Day

It's never too early to plan a special celebration. Father's Day is on Sunday 1 September, which is only two months away after all.

For lunch we will be offering our signature vegan yum cha degustation with set seating times.

For every table booked on Father's Day, there will be a special gift box for Dad.

Yum Cha in the Park

Last month our team got creative with a photoshoot in Cook + Phillip Park. We created the ultimate picnic scene, with thick knits, linens, florals and, of course, our vegan yum cha.

The dreamy setting is perfect for intimate events such as bridal or baby showers, or a romantic picnic for two. Let your imagination run wild, and contact our functions team to bring your special event to life.

Bodhi Loves: Unreal Fur

We appreciate brands that stand for what they believe in and those that are trying to have a positive impact in the world. Empowering consumers with choice is the best way to make change.

Unreal Fur's mission is to convert the world from real fur to faux fur, to develop sustainable fibres and minimise waste in production.

Our favourite coat in this seasons collection is the Unreal Dream in Lotus Pink (pictured). Purchase your own via the Unreal Fur website.

Sydney Winter Festival

Until Saturday 13 July, St Mary's Cathedral forecourt will be turned in to a winter wonderland with an ice skating rink taking over the space.

It's the perfect destination for some winter family fun. There are also special evenings for love birds (Tuesdays) and RnB fans (Thursdays) at the rink.

Start or end your evening at Bodhi, just below the ice rink, where you can warm up on dumplings, noodles, cocktails and winter desserts. Buy your tickets here.

Keep an eye out on Bodhi's Instagram for a giveaway of 2 x family passes and 1 x couple pass for the Tuesday date and skate.

Ask Heaven Leigh

We asked our Instagram followers to submit a question for Bodhi’s owner, Heaven Leigh. @r.ht.moss asked: "Why did you choose to have a vegan restaurant? "

"Hospitality has been in my family for generations, food is also incredibly important to us culturally. It’s the thing that brings us together - friends, family, celebration, mourning, it’s always with food.

I’ve always believed in doing as little harm as possible to the world. I love business, and I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mind. So to be able to combine two things that I am passionate about by having a successful business that does no harm in its success is a really positive experience.

I also get to feed people every day which is pretty amazing. Bodhi has always been about being inclusive, giving people dietary options and a way to eat consciously."

We will share more questions and Heaven's responses in the next newsletter, feel free to send any other questions to reservations@bodhirestaurant.com.au.
